Q:
What do I wear when I get a
massage?
A: Wear what you are comfortable in. Most people do not wear
anything, and some people leave their underwear on. No matter what
you wear, you will always be modestly draped throughout your massage
with a sheet, and a blanket is available if you feel chilly.
Q:
Do I need to do anything
during the massage?
A: Mostly, massage is a passive activity for you. As I move
around you and work on your muscles, I may move your arm or
leg, however, you do not need to help.
Many people fall asleep during a massage... and that's about the
level of activity you need to get a massage! The only time you
need to move is turning yourself over on the table so I can be sure
to work both sides of your body.
Q:
Do I have to shave my legs?
A: No... and that is the answer for both
women and men.
Q:
Will it be painful?
A: Massage should not be painful. You may feel some discomfort
in your muscles sometimes, however, if the pressure or work is too
much for you (on a scale of 1-10, 1 being nothing and 10 being "send
me to the hospital", you should never go beyond a 6 or a 7 )
please let me know during the massage. It's better to leave a
massage feeling good than to leave feeling beat up or achy.
Q:
Can I workout afterwards?
A: If you want to... just make sure to let me know beforehand that
you will be working out afterwards so I don't work too deep on
muscles you will be using later.
Q:
What do I do after the
massage?
A: Drink lots of water to flush out everything we set into motion,
and avoid alcohol. If you feel woozy just after the massage,
please don't drive... let me know and you
may sit a few minutes to regain your composure before you drive.
Q: Other Suggestions.....
A: Good communication
between you and me will ensure your massage journey is positive.
