FAQ's for Personal Training:
Q:
what do I wear?
A: wear comfortable clothing you can
workout in, such as sweatpants, spandex/cotton mix pants, t-shirt,
cotton socks and athletic shoes. You may also bring a towel
and a bottle of water with you, as well as a hair tie (longer hair
can make you feel very hot when you work out, or get in your way).
Q:
What can I expect during my
training session?
A: I collect information about you by both a health history form as
well as talking to you before your first session. I then
create a program tailored specifically for you and your goals.
During your session, you will be shown your program, how to
correctly perform the exercises, as well as an education about why
you are performing the exercises I have given you. Feel free
to ask questions... this is your time!
Q:
Will I be sore tomorrow?
A: You may feel some slight soreness in your muscles after the first
workout. However, I make every attempt to ensure you will not
be so sore you cannot get out of bed tomorrow or that you curse my
name everytime you move.
Q:
I used to lift weights, but
I got hurt. What can I do?
A: You can lift again, but you must learn to lift with good form so
you do not get hurt again. Weight lifting should not cause
injuries, it should help prevent them.
Q:
My joints ached when I used
to work out. Should I still lift weights?
A: Your joints may have ached if you tried to lift too much weight
too soon. If that was not the case, make sure you visit your
doctor to rule out other causes.
Q: Other Suggestions.....
A: Good communication
between you and me will ensure your journey to health is positive.
